Ask for Help

I believe that God found me, more than I found Him. . .
I had gotten myself into a position where I had no other place to turn;
I was at the point of almost complete despair.
Then, and only then, did I honestly and simply ask God to help me.
He came to me instantly, and I could feel His presence, even as I do this moment.
- Came To Believe . . ., p. 24

Thought to Ponder . . .
I asked from the heart, and I received.

I'm Garth, an alky.  Hope did not accidentally fall that day, God pushed her and He pushed me.  Not to my knees, but to pick up a pen at 2am, drunk on rum.  And I wrote a note that said I need help.  That was my bottom.  I need help.  I went to my first meeting that day, and I have not had to pick up a drink since.  I came very close several times but God interceded to this stubborn alcoholic and several times God sent someone else that is in AA to help me overcome the insanity.  Thank God.
