Hi, Denise here, an alcoholic. I'm so very grateful to be here with you all - it has been a while. Like always, this topic is exactly what I was in need of hearing. Over the course of time, working the Steps with my sponsor, I have found a connection to a power greater than myself. I've developed a conscious contact which keeps me on a good path. Aligning my will with the will of God has given me a wonderful peace of mind and the ability to really enjoy sober living. But on occasion, especially when I'm not getting my way, I step off this path. I relate it to the act of an immature child; after all, I really am growing up in AA. I will kick my feet, stomp, and pout, even complain about how I think things should be and all the while, I feel that inner pull, the Good Orderly Direction calling my name. Today, I give myself space to feel those things, to work through them instead of stuffing them down. That's all part of my process and I'm okay with it. God is there when I seek Him and each day that I stay sober is another day to do just that. Thanks for all being here and sharing. I truly appreciate you all. Much love.
