New Life
We, in our turn, sought the same escape with all the desperation of drowning men.
What seemed at first a flimsy reed, has proved to be the loving and powerful hand of God.
A new life has been given us or, if you prefer, "a design for living" that really works.

For myself, I believe that the 12th step is the true culmination that began when I first began the Journey in AA.  I was told that I would eventually transform my life from the misery and despair that drinking brought me and I would become an entirely new person.  Sounded impossible early on and I didn't even give it much thought actually. I just didn't drink and I reluctantly took some direction.  But today after an amazing transformation as a result of the process AA offered, I have indeed become the man that I always dreamed of being.  The 12th step is not just a step, its a life style that has become my way of life on a daily basis....I have been given the gift of grace and today I try the best I can to live in a manner that exemplifies my true gratitude to AA.  (TomB)
