The Main Purpose
We, of Alcoholics Anonymous, are more than one hundred men and
women who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind
and body. To show other alcoholics precisely how we have recovered
is the main purpose of this book. For them, we hope these pages will
prove so convincing that no further authentication will be necessary.

Pammy and I have alcoholism. I knew I couldn't do this alone. My sponsor chose me. Thank God coz I would have dragged my heels. She left me no time to say no, she was so matter of fact, this is how we are going to work it together. Each paragraph we read we go over it again, and share on what and how it fit in our lives. She helped break it down for me and it slowed the squirrels from running rampant in my head, and things were starting to make sense. Once I got past the shame and humiliation and saw that this is a disease and not a disgrace I was ready to do the work like I would for any other illness. I knew the problem now all I had to do is find out is how to treat it. And my sponsor and fellow members helped/help me to maintain the level of sanity that I need to keep moving forward. Thank you.
