A Way of Life
A.A.'s Twelve Steps are a group of principles, spiritual in
their nature, which, if practiced as a way of life, can expel
the obsession to drink and enable the sufferer to become
happily and usefully whole.

Hi, Anne, alcoholic here. My great truth is that I AM an alcoholic and a human being having a spiritual experience. Sober, I have the chance to do this. Drunk, I am totally dishonest throughout with no chance. This spiritual experience offered to me is truly beautiful and once I got a taste of the rewards of living honestly, patiently with tolerance and compassion for others, it left me wanting more. The clean and free feelings I get from living this way is the wonderful reward promised to me by living this simple program. It is much easier to stay sober than get sober so I keep practicing these principles in all my affairs odaat. Thanks for letting me share.
