Reborn
More and more we became interested in seeing what we could
contribute to life. As we felt new power flow in, as we enjoyed
peace of mind, as we discovered we could face life successfully,
as we became conscious of His presence, we began to lose
our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter. We were reborn.

Hi all, Danielle - Alcoholic. Today is 25 wonderful, wonderful days for me, and I got to thinking about the solution. A month ago... here were my solutions: don't drink wine tonight only beer, you embarrass yourself less on beer.... eat more carbs before you start drinking. Only finish the glass of wine you left from last night this morning, don't pour a new one. Pouring a new one would suggest I have a problem. [laugh]  I took a hard look at myself with some external pressures. But I knew to be successful, I would have to want it internally. First few days, I was happy to be here. It was nice to tell people I was sober, a solid pat on the back Danielle! But working the steps with my sponsor, prayer and meditation, and the BB have provided me with the tools to "face life successfully, as we became conscious of His presence, we began to lose our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter. We were reborn" - Big Book, page. 63. I am here because internally I want what I've seen others have, and I know I'm on my way. Not striving for perfection, but progress as our Big Book tells us on page 60. So thankful for this family and to be reborn into it. Big hugs.
