The List
We turned back to the list, for it held the key to the future. We were prepared
to look at it from an entirely different angle. We began to see that the world
and its people really dominated us. In that state, the wrong-doing of others,
fancied or real, had power to actually kill. How could we escape?
We saw that these resentments must be mastered, but how?

Thought to Ponder
Clear vision for tomorrow comes only after a real look at yesterday.

I'm Dale and I am an alcoholic. As a practicing alcoholic I lacked the ability to see the truth. I made up my own truths and I allowed others to hurt me. I allowed those resentments and fears to control me. After some time sober and learning about my ism's I was able to rearrange to my thinking. I saw things from a different perspective. Honestly, things like fears and resentments can actually be a good thing when seen in the proper perspective. I should fear jumping from a tall building. But to believe that someone is going to push me off that building is a manifestation of an irrational fear. I believed that because I was afraid of you. Once I put my thoughts, feelings, emotions into a proper perspective, aided by the 4th step process, I could see that the world wasn't out to get me. I could put to rest my resentments. I could see my role in my miseries and begin to take action and learn to live life somewhat more normal. Certainly far more normal than I used to live it. Step 4 is an eye opener and a way to the peace and serenity that I craved then, and now. Thanks.
