You Are Ready
Our stories disclose in a general way what we used to be like, what happened,
and what we are like now. If you have decided you want what we have and are
willing to go to any length to get it—then you are ready to take certain steps.

Thought to Ponder
Sobriety without action is fantasy.

Pammy, and I have alcoholism. When I first realized I am an alcoholic, I used it to my advantage as a leeway to excuse my bad behaviour and avoid accountability. I was sober, but just barely and I relapsed not long after. I had to go to rehab to safely sober up again due to health concerns. It was a controlled environment. If I was to stay sober I had to learn to live life on life's terms. It was ugly at first and painful but I wouldn't change that experience for the world. Strangely enough working each step as they are laid out brought me a sense of peace. Resentments are easy to find, takes no effort at all. Serenity takes action but it's worth it when you feel the burdens lift from you. Before AA and learning of our disease I had no choice. I was doomed to die an alcoholic death. Now with tools at my ready I do have a choice and it's up to me which one I decide to pick up. I no longer have bad days, just mere moments, and it's up to me if I choose to let them linger. I decide not to let me rob myself of what ever good times are waiting for me by clouding my heart. Thank you.
