Anger
Finally, we begin to see that all people, including ourselves, are to
some extent emotionally ill as well as frequently wrong, and then
we approach true tolerance and see what real love for our fellows
actually means. It will become more and more evident as we go
forward that it is pointless to become angry, or to get hurt by
people who, like us, are suffering from the pains of growing up.

Thought to Ponder
If we were to live, we had to be free of anger.

Thank you everyone. Isabella, alcoholic. Good to be with you this morning. Resentments..hmmmm. I too was a very angry, mean drunk. Didn't start out that way but the last years it was anger to rage in 60 seconds when I drank. Angry sober and even more angry drinking. Doing the 4th step followed by the 5th understanding that I needed to be honest and thorough. To keep eyes on my part was new. I was so used to blaming and shaming. I wanted to stay sober more than anything and that made me willing to look into my own ugliness. But as the Big Book promised and to my own relief and gratitude, freedom through forgiveness began. Forgiving others and myself. Taking responsibility for the first time, where I was at fault. Wow! And then making amends. It took time and change is ongoing for me. But the truth is with time I am not looking for reasons to resent, be angry anymore. In fact, I don't like feeling angry. That's completely different from how I used to be. Peace is my yardstick now, and maintaining that is a way of life. So grateful for the 12 steps that is the way out and for God and you who showed me. Blessings.
