This Matter of Fear
When fear persisted, we knew it for what it was,
and under God's grace we became able to handle it.
We began to see each adversity as a God-given opportunity
to develop the kind of courage which born of humility, rather than of bravado.

My name is Chris, and I'm an alcoholic.  I am on Step Four, just beginning to take my moral inventory, but from what I've heard here, I can relate.  I have fear issues.  I can give these over to God and humbly ask Him to take them, but fear is a big one.  I tend to second-guess myself whenever I interact with people, so much afraid of saying the wrong thing.  One thing God reminds me of is that I don't have the power of making or breaking someone else’s life.  I look forward to taking all of our Twelve Steps and I believe it is going to help me grow from what I've seen so far of my inventory.  I want to be humble, to listen; to give God my will with all my heart.  This program has opened great doors for me, and the Steps can only free me from fear and help me grow spiritually.  Thank you for letting me share.
