We Were Reborn
More and more we became interested in seeing what we could
contribute to life. As we felt new power flow in, as we enjoyed
peace of mind, as we discovered we could face life successfully,
as we became conscious of His presence, we began to lose
our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter. We were reborn.
We were now at Step Three.

Thought to Ponder
The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.

Pammy and I have alcoholism. My sponsor calls step 3 the threshold. Steps 1 and 2 she encouraged me to ask questions when we read them. But she said to me on step 3 she will have questions for me after reading. I was getting ready to go home, she gave me her questions. "Are you ready to be Happy? Are you ready to Love and be Loved?" Man did my legs go wobbly. I looked back at all the people in my life that only wanted the same things for me and how I couldn't see it for myself. The decision to walk away from what I knew would be the end of me if I quit drinking because of the endless cycle of afraid to go to sleep in case I wouldn't wake up. Then afraid to wake up because I knew I would be consumed with the obsession to drink again. Then asked to walk into the unknown was frightening. The following week I was to go to see my sponsor again, still a little indecisive. But once she opened the door I knew I wanted to live. The unknown is the unwrapped gift waiting to be opened every day I wake up. Something to look forward to in my opinion and I am Happy today. Thank you.
