Revolutionary Change
They flatly declare that since they have come to believe in a Power greater
than themselves, to take a certain attitude toward that Power, and to do certain
simple things, there has been a revolutionary change in their way of living and
thinking. In the face of collapse and despair, in the face of the total failure of
their human resources, they found that a new power, peace, happiness, and
sense of direction flowed into them.

Thought to Ponder
I cannot think my way into sober living.
I need to live my way into sober thinking.

Howdy Friends! Joe S, Alkie. Welcome to anybody new. The Big Book talks about a "psychic change." That means our thinking has to change. If I think like a drunk, I'm going to drink. I was capable of one feeling/emotion when I got here. Anger... based, of course, on fear. The steps, after step 1, are designed to change our thinking. I got lucky, my obsession for alcohol, and many other bad behaviors, was lifted when I finally understood step 2. IF we do a thorough job on the steps, we WILL change. I thank God everyday that I am no longer the man I was. I still have work to do. I may become the man I should be. Keep It Simple. God Bless.
