Step Eleven
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious
contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge
of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, (How It Works) p. 59
Thought to Ponder
Relationships are built with communication; so we pray.

I am Eddy and scared to share this morning. God is a topic that I don't comprehend. Yes, I just said that. A guy who led worship, Sunday school, VBS and went on missions. I don't understand God, whew what a relief. The truth is that I never did. I had a hard time grasping many truths that were shown to me during that time because it never felt right. See, I am an alcoholic and I am spiritually bankrupt as part of it. A bit dense here. I tell you that for this though. I don't know how, I don't know why, but even if I never do understand God, He understands me better than I do. My knowledge of Him is not a requirement for my sobriety. My faith in Him is. My time spent serving was for vain reasons and I learned that in here. But the way he manifests in the rooms, the meeting, my program and everything tells me that I never had to understand Him. Thank you.
